Fitting Rear Axel Strut Brace For Ford Fiesta mk7 & mk7.5 & ST180

Right guys this is how to fit the rear axel strut brace for the ford fiesta 2008-present

This kit can be bought from Tom Roberts on our Facebook fiestamk7.co.uk Owners club group page

First these are the tools you will need

Jack
Axel Stands x2
Ratchet
Rubber Mallet
17mm Deep Socket
17mm Spanner

Tools

First we need to be safe, jack up your fiesta and place vehicle on axel stands and its secure

Ok so now grab your strut bar and ensure bolts are removed

bolts

Now you need to remove the nuts and washers from the bolts, keep them to hand

Now on the axel locate the hole as in the picture below

Hole left side

You can place the bolt in from the top like below

Do the same for the other side

Now test fit the bar

make sure bolt shaft goes all the way through the bar

now use a jack to help hold the bar and repeat on the left, this will be a very tight fit and where the mallet comes in

use jack to help

get the other bolt in as much as you can and use a mallet to hammer it up

Use mallet

Ensure bolt does not get pushed up, keep hammering up until enough thread is up so you can get the washer and bolt on

Now use your 17mm deep socket and ratchet and tighten both side up equally, once done ensure there both fully tight, you may need to use 17mm spanner to hold the bolt on top in place, not always needed as it does not really move due to the tightness of the kit

tighten right

once thats done your now fully done,

done :)
